Dining Room Ministry @ Third

Teams of volunteers, backed by meal planners and shoppers, provide meals on a rotating schedule. We serve over 3,000 meals per year to people of all ages. Our guests are economically diverse, from those who are homeless to those living on low or fixed incomes. Meal planners and shoppers make sure that all food, whether brought from store or garden or bulk order, is available in the kitchen each Saturday morning. DRM teams prepare, cook, serve and clean-up for each meal.

All are welcome to volunteer with DRM. We have ten teams of 10-12 volunteers each. Each team has a leader who coordinates team membership and activity. We also have volunteers who plan and shop for the meals. The planners determine what items must be purchased for the meal, and prepare a list for the shoppers, who obtain these items and make them available for use for the Saturday meal. Team schedules are set over a year in advance so people can plan ahead. Most volunteers are church members, but all are welcome to join a team. Families are welcome to volunteer with us. This is also a great opportunity for high school students, scout troops, or other youth organizations to fulfill community service requirements. Volunteer orientation and training is available for those who are new to Dining Room Ministry.

We are always in search of volunteers to join our ministry. Contact us for more information or to sign up for a volunteer opportunity!
